Nomad Touch is a software GUI that expands the functionality and features of your Nomad 12. It was originally designed to be run on a Windows based Touch Screen tablet in your sound back, but it can run on any computer with a Windows based operating system.
ZaxHub integration allows you to use your Nomad Touch along with your FP-8 or Mix-8 and RX-12.
Nomad Touch software makes accessing the power of your Nomad incredibly simple. It gives you simple access to menus and matrices, cross points and metadata entry, expanded metering views, a much larger visual timecode slate with metadata, a full-function playback controller for simultaneous audio playback while recording, and MovieSlate® Wi-Fi interface for direct sharing of metadata.
The Touch acts as an MP3 transcription recorder with timecode and metadata. It writes the files directly to a microSD card inserted into your tablet or computer for instant client delivery or you can transfer directly via Touch connected to Wi-Fi in an e-mail or FTP.
The Nomad Touch software package includes a software unlock key for your Nomad, interface cables, and software for any tablet or computer that’s running Windows 8.1 or higher.
We highly recommend either the WinBook TW700 or WinBook TW800 since they have the ports and connectors necessary to take full advantage of Nomad Touch’s features. If you’d like to choose a different tablet, below is a list of features to consider:
The ZaxHub requires the use of interconnecting cables between devices and any off-the-shelf USB hub, please see the user manual for details. Please note, in order to run Touch, you must be running Nomad software v7.81 or higher.
One more thing… you *can* use Nomad Touch with Nova, but a Nova Touch GUI is in the works!
