POMPTON PLAINS, N.J. — October 1, 2026 — Zaxcom today announced ZRC (ZaxNet Remote Controller), its first dedicated handheld wireless remote controller for Zaxcom Digital Recording Wireless. With a large display, physical keypad, and easy-to-use menus, ZRC keeps operation moving without relying on a touchscreen, app, or subscription.
Better Wireless Control
ZRC can remotely group transmitters, change frequencies, control power settings, adjust input gain, start/stop recording, manage timecode, and more with a touch of a button, allowing users to spend less time managing wireless and more time focused on production.
A New Way to Format
New to ZaxNet wireless remote control is the ability to format the internal memory card in Zaxcom transmitters, which offer simultaneous internal recording and transmission. ZRC can remotely format a single transmitter’s memory card or entire groups, saving setup time for large productions, rental prep, or the next job.
Integrated Timecode
ZRC can also generate, read, jam, and send SMPTE timecode wirelessly. A 3-pin LEMO provides timecode input and output for syncing or supplying timecode to other devices.
ZRC can operate with or without transmitting timecode. When using another timecode source or multiple ZRC units, choose one device as the timecode master and disable timecode transmission on the others. Each ZRC remains independently controllable, so multiple units can work together without competing to provide timecode.
A Mute Till Jam option prevents timecode output until ZRC’s internal generator is jammed, while Standby TX enables control over ZaxNet timecode transmission.
Maximum Customization
ZRC brings greater control to ZaxNet’s 2.4 GHz wireless signal. Frequency and transmission power are adjustable to maintain a reliable connection across large sets and in congested Wi-Fi environments.
Smart power modes help conserve transmitter battery life while keeping operation ready when it’s time to roll. LOW2 records locally while disabling wireless transmission on compatible models. SLEEP shuts down all functions for maximum runtime.
Ready All Day
ZRC allows users to customize the display brightness and text color as well as setting auto-dim and delay levels for discreet viewing when it matters most. ZRC provides power via external USB-C or two AA batteries – Alkaline, Lithium, or NiMH. Choose battery calibration for accurate runtimes and use standby to get more out of every charge. When it comes time to update the firmware, USB-C makes it quick and easy.
ZRC is shipping now and is available at local dealers. Retail price: $945 USD.
