Maxx RF spray modification – issued 12/17/2013

It’s been reported that in some rare instances Maxx’s are radiating RF energy and interfering with wireless microphone receivers in a sound bag.  If this is effecting your Maxx the following modification will eliminate the issue. This mod is only necessary if you’re experiencing interference.

Step 1: Disassemble the Maxx.  Please be sure to keep track of screw size and location.

Step 2: Remove the electroplating underneath where the screw heads make contact on the “U” shaped cover of Maxx.  This is best done with an 82 degree countersink tool and a drill press. Be sure to gently remove the plating and not any of the case metal.

Step 3: Reassemble the Maxx being sure the screws are tight and in their proper location.

If the above steps don’t resolve the issue fully, the BNC connector will have to be replaced with BNC Part # WM5511-ND, it’s available from Digi-Key Electronics.  To do this will require a complete removal of the main DSP board as the connector is soldered to the board so we recommend this is done by a dealer or the factory.
