Pompton Plains, NJ — April 4, 2017 — The world of wireless transmitters got smaller with the new ZMT3 Miniature Transmitter. Building on the very successful Zaxcom High Density (ZHD) modulation that allows up to ten channels of wireless in one MHz of spectrum space, the ZMT3 is an ultra-small wide-band digital transmitter filled with features like internal recording, PowerRoll™ and NeverClip™.
Similar to other models in the Zaxcom Digital Wireless series, known throughout the industry for remarkable transmission and dependability, the ZMT3 is constructed from durable materials housed in a high strength, impact resistant polymer casing with rounded edges, machined metal and rubber gaskets. Measuring 2.2” x 1.6” x .55” (55.8 x 40.6 x 14mm) and weighing only 2.2oz (62g), its exceptionally tiny size is perfect for film, television or live event applications.
The ZMT3 runs cool to the touch and uses 100% digital modulation to transmit audio, providing a superior quality to any analog system. It has the ability to transmit encrypted audio while simultaneously removing unwanted intermodulation for a cleaner signal. Files are recorded using the highly reliable lossless MARF format which can be converted to either broadcast WAV or MP3 formats. Internal recording via a removable microSD card records files as a backup or as a standalone device while located in an unforgiving RF environment.
Just as the TRXLT3, TRXLA3, TRXFB3 and TRX743 transmitters, the ZMT3 has ZaxNet functionality, Zaxcom’s 2.4-GHz RF network that allows users to control settings such as gain, frequency channel selection and output levels remotely. In addition, activating PowerRoll™ automatically adjusts the output power of the transmitter based on the recording status sent over ZaxNet, reducing it to 25mW while on standby and up to 75mW while rolling to extend its battery life. While using NeverClip™ two separate analog to digital converters work in conjunction to provide a natural distortion free dynamic range of 128dB.
A graphic OLED display illuminates an intuitive menu tree that’s simple to navigate and can be locked during use. A NP-50 battery delivers roughly 5.5 hours of power and a removable antenna allows for safe storage. Other features include selectable output power and a 3-pin micro LEMO microphone connector. The ZMT3 is available in one of two configurations, model # ZMT3.5 covering blocks 20 through 23 (512-614 MHz) and model # ZMT3.6 covering blocks 23 through 26 (596 – 698 MHz).
